It was a magnum opus based on life of mighty Maratha general, Mahadji Shinde. Mahadji was instrumental in re-instating the Maratha power in north India after Maratha debacle in Third battle of Panipat in 1761. This video shows the Capture of Lal kilah (red fort) of Delhi by Marathas. It also shows their noble intentions about capturing Delhi.

A film on Delhi, India The capital of India, Delhi blends a historic past and a vibrant present. This film shows the different culture, religion, tradition, monuments, food, fashion, faith and history of Delhi. Most fascinating of all is the character of Delhi which varies from the 13th century mausoleum of the Lodi kings set in a sprawling park to ultra modern chrome and glass skyscrapers; and from imperial India’s Parliament House and the President’s Palace to the never ending bustle of the walled city surrounding Jama Masjid. Present day Delhi is built around the ruins of seven ancient cities. Monuments, forts & palaces, temples, culture, tradition, cuisine, fairs & festivals, handicrafts, etc all are attractions of Delhi. Delhi’s historic & historical monuments are architecturally beautiful and attention-grabbing. Delhi is itself home to several historical and newer monuments such as Red Fort, Old Fort, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Humayun’s Tomb, etc. Red Fort, Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb are UNESCO world heritage sites. Lotus Temple in Delhi is known for its beautiful architecture and has won numerous architectural awards. A grand parade is held near Rajpath in New Delhi every year. On Republic day the different regiments of the army, the Navy and the Air force march past in all their splendour. The parade is followed by a pageant of spectacular displays from the different states of the country. These moving exhibits depict scenes of …

Delhi, the capital of India, is a city of many faces and shades. Here history brushes shoulders with modernity quite casually, and this endows the modern city with an ancient soul with a unique appeal. This city of myriad charms has allured and enticed many emperors and adventurers, poets and traveler, saints and revelers… builders and gamblers over the course of centuries. The city, or rather the seven cities of Delhi prior to Lutyens Delhi had also witnessed the rise and fall of many empires, and the status of the capital of India sits quite fittingly on this city, state and a state of mind. The majestic monuments in Delhi reflect its rich, glorious and troubled past in stones for you to see…and also hear. Cruel time has forced some of these mighty monuments and forts to compromise their grandeur, but even in their ruins, they manage to whisper their long lost glories. You can validate this view by visiting the Tughlaqabad Fort and the Old Fort, where you can celebrate a singular affair with the past. Of course, Red Fort, Qutab Minar, Jama Masjid and India Gate are among the most famous monuments of Delhi, but do also include the Humayun’s Tomb, Lodhi Gardens and Jantar Mantar in the itinerary of your heritage tour of Delhi, so as to give it a holistic ring. And besides them, there is also a multitude of unknown or little known monuments strewn here and there in the capital’s bustling landscape; often at the most unexpected of places, which would not fail to …
