Blue Skirt Waltz – (Karaoke – concertina)
1938 “Chicago” Pearl Queen (Quad reed) Chemnitzer Concertina Solo. I recently had the pleasure of attending the 31st Concertina Bowl at the Blainebrook Center, Blaine, Minnesota on the 31st of Jan 2009. One of the co-founders and lovers of the concertina was there Mr. Art Ohotto. Mr. Ohotto a very nice man. I also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Jerry Minar from New Prague Minnesota. Jerry helped me with a hand strap problem at this event and it was truly appreciated. Yes, without a doubt, it was a wonderful time. Plenty of nice pepole, great music, and a plentiful amount of women! WOW!! . ON THE ONE, LET’s GO!! ” I dream of that night with you, lady when first we met, we danced in a world of blue, How can my heart forget; Blue were the skies and blue were your eyes, Just like the Blue skirt you wore, Come back Blue lady, come back, Don’t be Blue anymore. I dream of that night with you, lady when first we met, We danced in a world of Blue, How can my heart forget; Blue were the skies and blue were your eyes, just like the Blue skirt your wore, Come back blue lady, come back, Don’t be blue anymore.’
@smeltingengineer This is wonderful news…!! If you are a beginner, I’d highly suggest that you go to the “concertinamusic” dot com web site. They have many sheet music titles listed. And, The Blue Skirt Waltz is one of them. You should then be able to pull up the sheet music for this tune and print it off. Best always..!!
I am a beginner concertina player and have wanted to play this song since it was my great-grandfather’s favorite. After carefully watching your video I was able to write down the right hand part of this song, but there’s not a lot of footage of the left hand – would it be possible for you to tell me which key combinations you are playing?
Good Nick, thank you for asking. I did make some adjustments to the camera settings on this clip. in an effort to have better visual and audio. I will add some more POLKA music as soon as I can. It does look like there will be a lot of activity in Wisconsin for music lovers in 2009. I hope that you continue to practice and play that concertina whenever you can. Certainly, with all of this nice snow that we have received, we are looking at a beautiful spring, summer, and fall in MN and WI.
Thank you!!!
How are you! I honestly love this video plus the excelent video quality! Good to hear that you were able to fix the handstrap problem! My first box strap was a pain! Anyway If possible can you add some more polkas with both your Hengels and the 1942 Patek? That would be great to cheer me up! Thanks As Always
